The spiral plating method enables the automatic and standardized sample plating and allows up to 3 dilution series on one Petri dish. The sample is plated in a form of an increasingly dilute spiral (outwards from the center). The volume is calibrated and known at every point of the Petri dish. It is a vast improvement in speed and accuracy over manual methods. The Eddy Jet 2W Spiral Plater, advances this automated technology even further.
The Eddy Jet 2W Spiral Plating System is a large color screen touch screen fully programmable spiral inoculation instrument with accuracy and reproducibility of greater than 99%. The Eddy Jet 2W Spiral Plater uses a unique gamma-irradiated disposable micro-syringe for each new sample, eliminating cross-contamination and the need for a vacuum source or washing steps.
Since the samples come in contact only with the disposable low cost micro-syringe throughout the process, there is absolutely no risk of carryover of sanitizing chemicals, such as hypochlorite.

During the onset of the Covid pandemic, we were not able to obtain many of the supplies needed to run our instruments. Having the Eddy Jet Plater and the Sphere Flash Colony Counter fully operational allowed us to continue critical microbial testing despite the unexpected interruptions in supplies and workforce.
We recently switched from another brand of spiral plater to the Eddy Jet. While doing our correlation study we ran both units simultaneously and quickly noticed that we were starting the 3rd sample on the Eddy Jet while the 1st sample finished on the other brand. With our sample volume, this equates to a significant time savings
The Eddy Jet is the most user friendly Spiral Plater I have ever used. Unlike other units, we don ' t need to think twice before operating it. The disposable syringes and not having a vacuum pump are great plus for us. We like its functionality very much.
We had it up and running within an hour of delivery. It arrived with several clinical samples, all of which were plated on the new machine. Everything was fairly intuitive even without reading any directions! We have used every day since. It takes about the same length of time as our old machine, but is much simpler and more fool proof even for complete novices (new students in the lab).
We have implemented Neutec Group’s Eddy Jet 2 spiral plater and Sphere automated colony counter in our antimicrobial product testing and water testing applications. This has saved significant time compared to manual plating and counting processes. These instruments have also provided improved accuracy over manual methods.
