The analysis of moisture in a product or element is necessary in a broad range of industries for a large number of applications. These range from environmental research and agriculture, to food production and pharmaceuticals. For example, the level of moisture on a sample and/or ingredient can determine its shelf life. Moisture Balancers (also known as Moisture Analyzers), are programmable research tools that are used to precisely measure the moisture content of small product samples being manufactured or processed. This type of analysis can be performed before, during, or after a product is processed, however it generally takes place prior to the product packaging phase.
For example, in the pharmaceutical industry, a Moisture Balancer may be used to measure any product losses using the ‘loss on drying method’ or thermogravimetric principle, which measures the moisture content of a sample. The weight of a sample is measured both before and after its drying process to determine if any formulaic efficacy has been impacted. In addition to pharmaceuticals, the moisture content of cosmetics is also widely sampled, in this instance to determine its purity as well as viable shelf life.
As for the food and bakery industry, a Moisture Balancer may be utilized to determine the moisture content of both dried foods and those that contain juices, fats, dairy, or other forms of liquidity. Every type of commercial pastry and/or baked goods, fresh, canned, jarred, and frozen meat and sausages, cheeses, and dried fruits and nuts, are ideal candidates for sampling.
Neutec is proud to offer two Moisture Balancer tools by Torbal, a leader in research equipment technology.
To avoid inaccurate readings, prior to conducting a test, a Moisture Balancer must first be calibrated to the proper temperature. This is not an issue with these devices by Torbal, as Neutec’s in-house specialists and engineers will service, maintain, and calibrate your equipment to ensure an optimal result, test after test, and time after time.
If you are interested in maintaining the high product quality and product shelf life which you strive for, you probably know moisture content analysis is critical. Whether you are measuring moisture content in food or in other applications, quality, accuracy, and excellence are of utmost importance to you. Therefore, we are proud to offer Torbal’s AGS PRO analyzers.
The AGS PRO analyzers are built with rugged die-cast metal housing, making the unit resistant to heavy usage in challenging environments. These analyzers are built with Torbal’s electromagnetic force restoration load-cell, which offers uncompromising accuracy of 0.01% (0.001g).
Our in-house team of specialists and highly trained engineers will take care of servicing, maintaining, and calibrating the equipment for you. Let us know if you need any assistance!
