Jar Test: The choice and dosing of
the chemical coagulant to be adopted for
removing suspended solids from wastewater
are established based on laboratory
evaluation results optimised from the so
called Jar Test. Multiple stirrers with
reproducible stirring speeds allow the user
to adopt standard conditions for the test, a
basic requirement in order to get reliable
results. Considering the water's
variability, the test is repeated at a rate
tied to the specific needs.
Leaching Test: This is a test run on solid wastes to be sent to the dump that uses diluted acetic acid or carbon dioxide-saturated water in order to detect the presence of toxic heavy metals.
Velp Scientifica has developed a range of Flocculators environmental equipment for both Jar Test and Leaching Test use:
- JLT4 and JLT6 Flocculators (4 and 6 position respectively) have disconnectable lighted back panel; microprocessor controlled timer with 2 different scales of 0 - 999 minutes, 0 - 99 hours or continuous; digital display of speed and time remaining; stainless steel stirring rods adjustable in height by a self locking chuck; individual speed selector for each stirrer via DC gear motor.
- FP4 is a 4 position, portable flocculator developed for optimum use in the field.Tיק FP4 operates with 100-240V mains power supply or with 12V DC by connecting it to a normal battery or a car's cigarette lighter socket. It has a common speed selector to all stirring rods via DC gear motor; speed selector settable at 20, 40, 50, 100 or 200 rpm.; timer from 0 to 30 minutes or continuous; stainless steel stirring rods adjustable in height by a self locking chuck.
- FCS4 and FCS6 Flocculators (4 and 6 positions respectively) have disconnectable lighted back panel; speed selector settable at 10, 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 150 and 200 rpm. (possible up to 300 rpm.); individual speed selector for each stirrer vai DC gear motor; stainless steel stirring rods adjustable in height by a self locking chuck.
