Includes all the features
of the Basic model plus automatic measurement of inhibition
zones*.
Identifies antibiotic disks and zone size around each
disk, recording the correspondent diameter.
Reads up to eight disk plates in seconds, achieving
throughputs of hundreds of plates in an hour.
Up-grade to the Advance model is
needed.
*
Inhibition Zone on an agar plate.
An area
around a colony of mold or bacteria where no additional
organisms are growing, When testing sensitivity of
antibiotic, disks with antibiotic are introduce on an
agar plate were growing bacteria exist. The antibiotic
then dispersed into the agar away from the disk. If the
bacteria are sensitive to the antibiotic, they will not
grow next to the disks. The size of the zone is
comparative to how sensitive the organism is.
